Times Roman was designed in 1931 for The Times. its goal was to solve problems that occurred with high speed printing on low quality newspaper.

Times Roman is very influential in the development of other faces, such as Georgia.

Times Roman is Often confused with the Microsoft Default Times NEW Roman, they are essentially the same except for some legal issues with trademarks. the differences include, TNR has slanted serifs on the capital “S”, TRs serifs are vertical.

Windows computers have “Times New Roman” and Macs have simply “Times”
